Privacy Policy

Last updated August 9, 2026. Effective immediately for new users; material changes take effect for existing users as described in Changes to this policy.

Overview

rehome, Inc. (“rehome,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the rehome.build website and the rehome platform at my.rehome.build (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

By creating an account or using rehome, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

rehome currently operates in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, by using the Service you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive the information you authorize that provider to share.

Project information. When you start a project, we collect your property address, project scope and description, uploaded photos and inspiration images, design preferences, and any notes or comments you provide.

3D scan data. If you order a 3D scan, our scanning partner GoMeasure collects detailed measurements of your home's interior and exterior, including room dimensions, wall positions, door and window locations, ceiling heights, and structural elements. This data is transferred to rehome to generate your 3D model.

AI render data. When you generate a render, we process the viewport geometry (the view of your model on screen) and the text description you provide (materials, finishes, style preferences). Completed renders are stored with your project.

Product selections. When you place components in your 3D model (appliances, fixtures, cabinets, furniture, or materials), we record those selections and their positions within the model.

Communication records. Messages you send to your project lead, professionals, or other users through the platform are stored as part of your project record.

Professional and agency communications. We collect communications, comments, meeting notes, proposed responses, review letters, correction notices, agency feedback, consultant recommendations, and records of the decisions made during the design, permitting, and construction process.

Professional coordination information. When rehome brings a professional into a project, we collect the information needed to select, retain, and coordinate that professional. This may include the project scope, qualifications, availability, license and insurance information, assigned responsibilities, engagement terms, and deliverables. During contractor selection, licensed contractors may use relevant project information to independently prepare and submit construction bids directly to you. If you upload a contractor's bid to your project workspace, we store it as part of your project record.

Community content. Posts, comments, images, and other content you contribute to Discussions are stored on our servers and associated with your account.

Device and usage data. We automatically collect your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URLs, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and interactions with the platform. This data is collected through server logs and analytics tools.

Location data. We collect your general location based on the property address you provide. We do not track your real-time GPS location unless you explicitly use the “Use my location” feature, which requires your browser's permission.

How we use your information

Service delivery. To create your 3D model, generate AI renders, facilitate communication with professionals, coordinate construction document production, and manage your project through the platform.

Project coordination. To evaluate your project and identify appropriate next steps, prepare and coordinate plans, models, reports, applications, meeting materials, and proposed responses, and manage submissions, corrections, approvals, project milestones, responsibilities, and the project record.

Professional coordination. To identify, evaluate, introduce, retain, or coordinate professionals and other service providers, and to allow them to review your project, request additional information, prepare recommendations, and take part in meetings or agency communications.

Agency communication. To communicate with planning departments, building departments, design review staff, preservation staff, other public agencies, contractors, consultants, and project participants on your behalf, and to document instructions, decisions, agency feedback, and project history.

Communication. To send you project updates, respond to your inquiries, and provide customer support. We may also send service-related announcements (e.g., maintenance notices, security alerts).

Platform improvement. To analyze usage patterns, identify bugs, test new features, and improve the overall user experience. This analysis uses aggregated or anonymized data wherever possible.

Legal compliance. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

Fraud prevention. To detect, prevent, and address fraud, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities.

Marketing. With your consent, to send information about new features, services, or promotions. You may opt out at any time.

How we share your information

Third-party partners. We share data with partners who help deliver the Service, including our scanning partner (GoMeasure), AI rendering providers, and prospective and retained professionals involved in evaluating, coordinating, or performing services for your project. See the “Third-party partners” section below for details on each.

Professionals and project participants. As reasonably necessary to provide the services for your project, or at your request, we share relevant project information with architects, engineers, designers, surveyors, energy consultants, contractors, preservation specialists, attorneys, and other professionals or project participants. The information shared may include contact information, property addresses, plans, models, photographs, measurements, reports, uploads, project scope, budget or schedule information, agency correspondence, meeting materials, your instructions, and prior project decisions.

We limit this disclosure to information reasonably related to evaluating, coordinating, reviewing, submitting, or performing the services for your project, or preparing a construction bid. Recipients may use that information to conduct their own review, communicate with you or other project participants, and satisfy the legal, licensing, insurance, and record retention obligations that apply to their services.

Professionals engaged from outside rehome may maintain their own privacy notices and recordkeeping duties. Where such a professional independently determines how and why personal information is processed for that professional's own services, that professional's privacy practices also apply.

Government agencies and reviewing authorities. We may submit or disclose project information to planning departments, building departments, design review bodies, preservation staff, public utilities, fire authorities, and other governmental or quasi-governmental entities when you ask us to pursue review, approval, permitting, inspection, or related project services. Information submitted to a public agency may become part of a public record and may be subject to disclosure under applicable law.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of rehome, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Aggregated data. We may share aggregated, anonymized data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. This data may be used for industry analysis, research, or platform improvement.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Your sharing choices

Before we make a non-routine disclosure to an independent professional, you may ask who is expected to receive your project information and what will be shared.

You may also tell us not to share particular information. Withholding information may limit a professional's ability to evaluate or perform services, or a contractor's ability to prepare a construction bid, and we will tell you when that is the case.

What cannot be pulled back. Information already submitted to a public agency, incorporated into a professional's own records, or retained to satisfy a legal obligation may not be retractable or deletable, including through a deletion request.

To make a request, email privacy@rehome.build or tell your project lead.

Third-party partners

rehome works with third-party partners to deliver parts of the Service. When you use these services through rehome, your data may be shared with the applicable partner as described below.

GoMeasure (3D scanning). If you order a 3D scan, GoMeasure performs the scan and collects spatial data of your property. GoMeasure's collection, use, and protection of scan data is governed by their own privacy practices. rehome receives the processed scan data to generate your 3D model.

AI rendering providers. When you generate a render, your viewport geometry and text prompt are sent to our rendering provider. Your full 3D model is not transmitted. This data is used solely to produce your render and is contractually prohibited from being used for model training.

Outside professionals. When a designer, engineer, or contractor from outside rehome is evaluated for or retained on your project, relevant project information is shared with that professional. See How we share your information for the categories involved. Each professional is responsible for their own handling of your data beyond the platform.

rehome is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party partners. We encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.

AI rendering & generated content

When you generate an AI render, the following data is processed: (a) viewport geometry, the specific view of your 3D model visible on your screen; and (b) your text prompt, the materials, finishes, styles, and other preferences you describe.

This data is sent to our AI rendering provider to produce a photorealistic image. The full 3D model is not transmitted to the rendering provider, only the viewport and prompt.

Storage. Completed renders are stored on rehome's servers as part of your project. Render metadata (timestamp and prompt text) is retained for project history purposes.

Ownership. You own renders and documents you download or export from the platform. The 3D scan data and 3D model remain on rehome's infrastructure. See our Terms of Service for details on intellectual property rights.

No model training. Your renders, prompts, and viewport data are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models. Our AI rendering provider is contractually prohibited from using your data for model training purposes.

Community content (Discussions)

Discussions is rehome's community forum. When you post content, including text, images, project details, and comments, that content is stored on our servers and displayed publicly to other users of the platform.

Visibility. Discussion posts are visible to all registered users. Your display name and role are shown alongside your posts. Do not share information in Discussions that you would not want other users to see.

Moderation. rehome reserves the right to review, edit, or remove content that violates our community guidelines or Terms of Service. Moderation actions are logged for accountability.

Retention. Discussion content is retained indefinitely unless you delete it. When you delete a post, it is removed from public view within 24 hours and permanently deleted from our servers within thirty (30) days. Copies that have been quoted or referenced by other users may persist.

Cookies & tracking technologies

rehome uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Essential cookies. Required for authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled without losing access to the Service.

Analytics cookies. Used to understand how users interact with the platform: which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and where users encounter difficulties. This data helps us improve the Service.

Preference cookies. Used to remember your settings, such as your selected location and display preferences.

No advertising cookies. rehome does not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not sell your data to advertisers.

Local storage. We may use browser local storage to maintain session state and cache certain data for performance purposes.

Managing cookies. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of the Service.

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

  • Account data: Retained for the duration of your account. Upon deletion request, removed within 30 days.
  • Project data (3D models, renders, plans, selections): Retained for the duration of your account plus 2 years after account closure.
  • 3D scan data: Same as project data, duration of account plus 2 years.
  • Discussion content: Retained indefinitely unless you delete it. Deleted content is purged within 30 days.
  • Communication records (messages with project leads and professionals): Retained for the duration of your account plus 2 years.
  • Professional and agency communications (meeting notes, review letters, correction notices, agency feedback): Retained as part of the project record, as described below.
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized. Retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
  • Server logs: Retained for 90 days, then automatically purged.

The project record. We retain the project record, including professional and agency communications, for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the services, maintain continuity between phases, document project decisions, respond to disputes or inquiries, and meet legal, insurance, contractual, and recordkeeping obligations. Where those obligations require a longer period than the windows listed above, the longer period applies to the affected records.

Independent professionals and public agencies set their own retention periods for information in their possession. rehome does not control those periods, and deleting information from rehome does not remove it from a professional's records or from a public agency file.

Data security

rehome implements technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

Encryption. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption.

Access controls. Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel on a role-based, need-to-know basis. All access is logged and monitored.

Infrastructure. Our services are hosted on infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 compliance and undergoes regular security assessments.

Incident response. We maintain an incident response plan to address potential security breaches. In the event of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email and in-app notification without unreasonable delay and within the time required by applicable law. We will also notify applicable regulatory authorities as required by law.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
